FS-1™ PERFORMANCE GLOVES
The FS-1™ Performance Gloves are designed at the intersection of performance, comfort, and style.
The Starting Line.
Anthony Campise, President and Founder of Flex® Handwear, set out to create a glove line catering to handlebar action sports with a lighter, more comfortable feel. Having “probably tried every glove out there,” he never found one that met his exact needs.
During a video call he shared, “I have a bin of motocross gloves right behind me that I’ve been testing and riding over the years. I just never found one that had the combo of lightweight, durability, comfort, and dexterity that I needed.”
And that’s how Flex® Handwear got its start. In 2022, Anthony began crafting cutting-edge handwear solutions for various riding styles, including motocross, freeriding, BMX racing, and mountain biking. After a year of dedicated design and testing, Flex® introduced its first glove in 2023: the FS-1™ Performance Glove featuring AX® Materials.
Hands-On Protection.
The FS-1™ Performance Glove is designed at the intersection of performance, comfort, and style. Featuring a lightweight, streamlined design, it offers unrivaled grip and a pre-curved palm made from AX® Suede Cinco RPET, one of the leading recycled palm suedes from AX® Materials.
Launched in 2013, AX® Suede Cinco completely revolutionized the glove industry. Ultra-thin, breathable, moisture-wicking, and durable – it quickly became clear how this material could elevate gloves beyond the stiff, board-like fabrics that previously dominated the market.
That’s why Anthony chose AX® Materials for his new product line. His goal was to use materials specifically designed for gloves that were proven and tested by athletes who ride.
“Many of the gloves marketed as riding gloves do not use materials that provide true utility to the rider,” Anthony explains. “They are simply cost-effective solutions for the company, not the person on the bike. We’ve got a grip on things because, as a company created by riders, we’re sitting on the same bike seat as everyone else.”
A Natural-Feel Fit.
The FS-1™ Performance Gloves are also designed for riders who dislike the restrictive feel of traditional gloves but still want protection.
“We’ve spoken with hundreds of riders and concluded that the majority of those who don’t wear gloves often forgo this layer of protection due to the fit, which then affects the lack of connection they feel with their bars and bike. Certainly, this is no reason to risk damaging one of the most delicate, relied-upon parts of your body: your hands.”
The glove’s low-profile fit and high-dexterity palm give riders a “natural feel” with their bikes, providing an unrestrictive fit that won’t hinder control. With these gloves, Flex® proves that style, comfort, and protection can and should go hand in hand.
Materials That Matter.
Equipping riders with reliable protection “is worth every bit of the effort in our book,” says Anthony.
“Money gets printed every year, but our customers are one of a kind. We help them ride the right way so they can continue riding tomorrow and many days beyond.”
In addition to its AX® Suede palm, the FS-1™ Performance Glove includes a 4-way stretch spandex top hand, Lycra® gussets, a protective thumb gusset, and vibrant, fade-free graphics, which truly deserve a callout here. Creative and unique prints with names like the Sticker Bomb, Lucky Octopus, Flex Cat, Miami Marpat, and Elephant Hide provide riders with colorful protection that pops. Plus, the palm (where Cinco is located) features slick silicon prints, including little aliens, coins, a winky face, and (our favorite) a mantra that’s there to pump you up: “Send it!”
A Team Effort.
Flex® is a brand with a professional and sports-forward attitude that isn’t afraid to have a little fun. The team is known for having a positive impact on motocross riders around the world and promoting athletes who are recognized for building an empowering culture within the racing community.
They also take pride in their local scene, sponsoring and supporting BMX, Motocross, and MTB facilities.
“We are actively doing our part to help promote safety in action sports for riders, racers, enthusiasts, and their families,” Anthony explains.
“Life is short, and we’d like to make a real difference in the lives of other riders. Saving hands is our way to do it.”
